Last week, the North East of England (NEE) PIPE Branch held an evening social event, a cruise along the scenic banks of the river Tyne. The event was a considerable success, attracting around 100 guests including regional members as well as delegates to the first international forum on the transportation of captured CO2 by pipeline. Shortly after departure the boat passed under the Millennium Bridge which had been raised specially. It was a truly unique perspective on a great engineering landmark. NEE Branch Chair Mohamed Dafea said, "This magical night on the river has helped to put our Branch on the map. PIPE is fast becoming a key local forum for pipeliners and we have many exciting events and useful presentations coming up."
