Wed, 07 May 2008 - TMK reports 20% pipe sale increase RUSSIA'S largest steel pipe maker, Trubnaya Metallurgicheskaya Kompania (TMK) expects total 2007 revenues to have risen by about 20% to more than $4 billion on strong demand and higher prices for pipes. In 2007 the company shipped 1.9% more steel pipes than in 2006, and its seamless oil country tubular goods and large-diameter welded pipe prices were up to 14% higher than a year ago. Prices rose 14% on seamless linepipe, 12% percent on seamless industrial pipes, and were flat on industrial welded pipes. more... 
Wed, 07 May 2008 - Malaysian company wins Queensland gas pipeline project MALAYSIAN Wah Seong Corporation Bhd reports that its subsidiary Delco Australia Pty Ltd, has won the contract worth $45.86 million to develop a gas pipeline project in the Australian state of Queensland. Delco was awarded the contract by Newgen Braemar 2 Pty Ltd to develop the Braemar 2 gas pipeline project as part of the Braemar 2 power project. more...
Tue, 06 May 2008 - Siberian oil pipeline's second stage could begin in late 2009 CONSTRUCTION OF the second stage of the oil pipeline being built from East Siberia to the Pacific Ocean could begin in the second half of 2009, according to a company spokesman speaking in early March. The East Siberia-Pacific Ocean (ESPO) pipeline project is being planned to transport up to 1.6m brl/d of crude oil from Siberia to Russia's Far East, and then on to China and the Asia-Pacific region. 'The project's feasibility study is to undergo an expert evaluation in December, 2008. If the Russian government gives a special instruction, we could launch the construction of the project's second stage in the second half of 2009,' Sergei Sergeyev, head of the ESPO-2 project management centre, said. more...
Mon, 05 May 2008 - J-V agreement signed for Hamriyah gas pipeline DANA Gas, the Middle East's first and largest regional private-sector natural gas company, and Emirates General Petroleum Corporation (Emarat), have agreed to form a joint venture to own, manage, and operate the region's first common-user gas pipeline, which will be completed shortly. Dana Gas and Emarat, along with the three end-users – the Federal Electricity & Water Authority of the UAE (FEWA), the Sharjah Electricity & Water Authority (SEWA), and Dana Gas' affiliate Crescent Natural Gas Co Ltd (CNGCL) – signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the implementation and utilization of the pipeline in January, 2006, and Dana Gas and Emarat each have a 50% share stake in the construction, ownership and operation of the pipeline. more...

(Sinopec), China's second-largest oil and gas producer, has chosen GE Oil & Gas' compression technology for a new pipeline project designed to help ease natural gas shortages in the country's eastern commercial hub. Fri, 02 May 2008 - Kenya-Uganda oil pipeline project to start CONSTRUCTION of the Kenya-Uganda oil pipeline extension is to start this month, the Kenyan energy minister said recently. Mr Daudi Migereko said contractor Tamoil East Africa was now acquiring land and compensating land-owners. The Libyan company won the tender to install the 8-inh diameter, 320-km long, pipeline from Eldoret to Kampala last year; with a capacity of about 1.2m cum/yr, the pipeline will transport refined oil products to Uganda and neighbouring countries. Thu, 01 May 2008 - Chinese oil pipeline network now reaches over half of group's refineries THE Sinopec Group reported recently its crude pipeline network now supplies 18 refineries in North China, East China, and Central China, which accounts for just under 53% of the group's 34 refineries. Sinopec Group transported 66.56m tons of crude last year through its pipeline system, an increase of 5.2% over 2006. It expects to transport over 70m tons by pipeline in 2008. more...
Thu, 01 May 2008 - Largest Malaysian pipeline project award A CONSORTIUM led by Punj Lloyd Ltd has been awarded the Sabah Sarawak gas pipeline project by Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Petronas, the state-owned oil and gas major. Other consortium partners are Dialog E & C Sdn Bhd and Petrosab Logistik Sdn Bhd. This will be the largest pipeline project in Malaysia, and will run through plantations and mountains in the states of Sabah and Sarawak in Eastern Malaysia's island of Borneo. more...
Wed, 30 Apr 2008 - $1.2-billion ethanol pipeline plans for Brazil MID-MARCH saw state-run oil firm Petroleo Brasileiro SA (Petrobras) sign a $1.2-billion cooperation agreement with two Brazilian states on plans for a second ethanol pipeline. Petrobras, along with the states of Mato Grosso do Sul and Parana, plans to develop viability studies for the ethanol pipeline linking Campo Grande in western Brazil to the port of Paranagua in the south of the country.
