The PIPE is the international organization dedicated to those involved in the design, construction, operation and maintenance of oil and gas pipelines. Founded in 2007, the PIPE is fast becoming the primary forum for the industry. By joining the PIPE individuals receive recognition of their skills and status, and gain access to a rapidly-expanding network of associated individuals and businesses.

Decision-making about PIPE membership, direction, administration, and all other issues, is made by the Board, the members of which will ultimately be elected by the membership. A number of standing committees are to be established by the Board that will have responsiblity for specific activities (such as publicity, membership, technical matters).

In October 2008 the Annual Meeting agreed that the PIPE secretariat would continue to be run by Scientific Surveys Ltd of Beaconsfield, UK, and Clarion Technical Publishers of Houston, USA. Dan Lentell has been appointed Membership and Business Development Manager, and works out of the Beaconsfield office.
